
Northern Kentucky University
Nestled in central Campbell County is Northern Kentucky University, the Commonwealth's fastest developing institution for higher learning. At more than 15,000 students and 2,400 faculty and staff, NKU has distinguished itself as a regional academic and community leader.
NKU has seen strong capital investment, including the 2008 opening of its $37 million, 144,000 square foot student union building, and $60 million, 9,400-seat arena. In 2011, it will showcase its nationally-recognized College of Informatics at Griffin Hall, a $52.8 million, 110,000 square foot facility.

NKU offers 70 bachelor's degrees, six associate degrees, 20 graduate programs, 1 Juris Doctor, and 1 Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership, as well as over 30 graduate certificates.
Did You Know?
NKU's Fifth Third Bank Entrepreneurship Institute was named one of the 2006 "Top 25" undergraduate programs for entrepreneurship by Entrepreneur magazine and The Princeton Review.
The sports business undergraduate program was one of the first of its kind in America.
The College of Informatics is one of only a few in the nation.
The Haile Digital Planetarium, which opened in 2007, is the first laser projection planetarium system to ever be installed on an educational institution's campus anywhere in the world. NKU is only the seventh institution in the world to have such equipment, and the others are six major planetariums (including those in Tokyo, Los Angeles and London).
Salmon P. Chase College of Law is the largest law school in Kentucky, with an enrollment of more than 500. The school also produces the most lawyers in Kentucky, and the second-most in Ohio. Students taking the Kentucky bar exam for the first time in 2007 and 2008 achieved an 87 percent pass rate, higher than the pass rate for all first-time takers in the state.

NKU's College of Informatics, one of only a few in the nation, produces top-notch talent in a variety of fields. So what is informatics? Informatics is the acquisition, collection, analysis, manipulation, application, packaging, presentation, and marketing of information. Today, there is virtually no area of business, science, industry, or entertainment that does not use some aspect of informatics. They all need a means of managing information and presenting it in the most useful and effective way. In fact, Fortune magazine states that nine of the twenty fastest growing professional jobs in the next decade will be found in the field of informatics.
