Alexandria, KY — January 20, 2011 6:45 PM    — The Campbell County Office of Emergency Management, with the concurrence of the Campbell County Transportation Department, Campbell County Police Department and the County Judge/Executive's Office has issued a Level Two travel advisory for Campbell County, Kentucky. This travel warning is intended to notify Campbell County residents that roadways are extremely hazardous with blowing and drifting snow or ice. Only motorists whose travel is absolutely necessary should be on the roadways.

Residents are urged to contact their employer to see if they should report to work.

County officials are requesting that travel in Campbell County be limited to essential

Essential travel is defined as that travel necessitated for life sustaining means,

including but not limited to; travel for medical purposes, travel for obtainment of food or

water, travel for employment purposes, or travel for obtainment of heating fuel or

heating sources. This travel warning is not mandatory nor is it an order declaring nonessential traffic illegal.

This travel advisory will be rescinded by the Office of Emergency Management

when, upon concurrence with the Transportation Department and County Police Department, road conditions are no longer in a dangerous or hazardous condition.
