The Campbell County Reapportionment Commission made up of Neal Bedel, Martin Due, and Kevin Sell, along with County Clerk Jack Snodgrass a non-voting member, have submitted their recommendations for Campbell County’s reapportionment of the Districts for the Commissioners, Justice of Peace and Constables. The Campbell County Fiscal Court has a first reading of Ordinance 0-12-11 scheduled for July 6, 2011 at 7:PM at the Alexandria Courthouse which accepts the recommendations as submitted by the Reapportionment Commission and adopts the proposed changes. The Ordinance will be read a second time and passage considered at the July 20th meeting of the Fiscal Court. The meeting is at the County Administration Building located at 1098 Monmouth Street, Newport, KY at 5:30PM. Once the Fiscal Court has adopted the report establishing the new districts, any registered voter of Campbell County may bring an action in the Campbell County Circuit Court to enforce the provisions of KRS 67.945. Any action brought to the Circuit Court by a registered voter must be done so within 20 days from the action of the Fiscal Court. The Circuit Court shall hear the action and, on a finding that the provisions of KRS 67.045 have been violated, remand the matter to the Campbell County Fiscal Court. Attached are the maps of the Current and Proposed Districts, along with a written report of the new Districts, and the minutes from the May 31, 2011 Reapportionment Commission Meeting.
