About the Campbell County Police Honor Guard

The Campbell County Police Honor Guard is professionally trained to serve your needs. The Honor Guard consists of 8 members of the Campbell County Police Department. We train on a monthly basis to keep these skills sharp. We have performed for local communities and for large organizations.

The Campbell County Police Honor Guard can perform many different types of drills. Most commonly, we perform Color Guard details. Presenting colors for a crowd of 40,000 fans at a Cincinnati Reds game, or marching the Colors in a parade for a local community event, rest assured we can do it.

Another common request is for Posting of the Colors to open a ceremony or event. We have opened ceremonies such as the Greater Cincinnati Crime Stoppers Award Banquet and the Kentucky Chiefs of Police Banquet.

Other types of services we offer include Firing Party (gun salute), Casket Watch and Casket Movement, Funeral Details, and Manual of Arms.

History of the Campbell County Police Honor Guard

The Campbell County Police Honor Guard was conceived in 2005 and brought to fruition through the collaborative efforts of Police Chief Colonel Keith Hill and members of the Campbell County Police Department.  With the approval of the Campbell County Fiscal Court, the Honor Guard was funded and brought to being.

Initially, three Honor Guard members were sent to the Goshen, IN Police Department Honor Guard Camp in October, 2006. Those officers recieved professional training in every type of protocol pertaining to Honor Guards. From Flag Folding to Marching, Firing Party to Casket Watch, these officers brought back a vast amount of knowledge to share with other Honor Guard members.

Our first detail was the Presentation of the Colors for the installation of the newly elected Fiscal Court officials in January 2007. Shortly thereafter, the Honor Guard had the solemn duty to perform a Funeral Ceremony for our fallen brother Officer Jason Faulkner. Officer Faulkner served as our Youth Services Officer and succumbed to Leukemia after a long battle with cancer.

Since those early days, the Honor Guard has been outfitted with uniforms, ceremonial shotguns, flags, and other necessary equipment. Incoming members to the Honor Guard also recieve the professional training at the Goshen, IN Honor Guard Camp. The proper performance of our duties is first and foremost, as we continue to strive to do our best!
