Campbell County Police Force Merit Board


Description

The Campbell County Police Force Merit Board is responsible for classifying and examining applicants seeking employment as officers or employees of the police force and to promulgate rules and regulations governing the classification, qualification, examination, appointment, promotion, demotion and disciplinary action of all personnel of the County Police Force, to hold such hearings and impose such penalties upon the personnel affected, in accordance with KRS Chapter 78.


 

Term of Service

The County Judge Executive, with confirmation of the Fiscal Court, shall appoint four (4) persons to the Board. The County Judge Executive shall be an ex-officio member of the Board. In accordance with KRS 280.410, board appointees shall be at least thirty (30) years of age, a county resident, and not related by blood or marriage to either the County Judge Executive or any member of the Fiscal Court. Not more than two (2) members shall be adherents of the same political party. Appointment shall be for a term of four (4) years.
