Citizens' Academy to launch this fall

Campbell County is excited to announce we are launching a Citizens' Academy program this fall!

Have you ever wondered what the 911 dispatch center looks like?

Are you curious about how your tax dollars get allocated?

Do you want to know how county road repairs are prioritized?

If you are interested in the answers to these questions (and more), the Campbell County Citizens' Academy wants you!

What is the Campbell County Citizens' Academy?

An eight-week educational program, the Campbell County Citizens' Academy is designed to educate, involve, and engage Campbell County citizens in the work of various county government entities. Through the CCCA, about 20-25 participants will be selected to get exposed to a wide variety of subjects and presenters, including local elected officials and county and other professional staff. You will learn how your tax dollars are put to work to fund the basic services of the county upon which we all rely.

What are the details? How do I learn more?

The fall 2017 program will run every Monday night from 7-9pm between September 25 to November 13. Most sessions will be held at the County Administration Building at 1098 Monmouth Street in Newport. There will be some field trips involved. A graduation program is set for November 15.

Download this flyer to learn more about the CCCA, as well as to see what sessions are planned.

How can I apply to participate?

To apply, you must be 18 years or older and a current resident or business owner in Campbell County. You must also be able to commit to attending at least six (6) of eight (8) sessions.

Download the application, and submit it no later than September 13.

What if I have more questions?

Call (859) 547-1810 if you would like to discuss this opportunity further.
